Meeting at Fish Frenzy on Hobart’s iconic wharf just a stone’s throw from the CBD you will board our luxury catamaran ‘Cuttlefish’ where you will be warmly greeted by our local crew who will make you feel right at home. After a short safety brief you will be feasting on freshly shucked oysters (and try shucking an oyster for yourself!)
Taroona Sea Cliffs
Cruise a short distance down the Derwent River from Hobart where we will nestle under the towering sea cliffs of Taroona sampling a seasonal Tasmanian fruit & cheese platter and sip on a selection of premium Tasmanian beer, wine and sparkling. Cruising past the blowhole at Blackmans Bay we will prepare Blacklip abalone for you to sample from our interactive cook station. Hobart has a significant convict history, be sure to ask our crew any questions as we go!
We will venture south and stop in at the secluded Bull Bay off the iconic Bruny Island, the fertile fishing grounds where your skilled diver will submerge into the ocean to catch the freshest periwinkles and sea urchins. Our chef will expertly prepare the urchin whilst you will continue to be served premium local beer, wine, sparkling, juice, tea or coffee.
Rounding the most Northern tip of Bruny Island we will encounter oysters and mussels growing naturally in the wild.
Entering the sheltered waters of the magical D’entrecasteaux Channel we will prepare & serve mussels and periwinkles before making our way to Shepards Point.
We will cruise across to the stunning Shepards Point to visit an active Atlantic Salmon farm. Here you will see the salmon jumping before sampling this world renowned fish in variety of ways – including our signature ceviche.

"The team at Tasmanian Wild Seafood adventures were simply perfection! My husband and I booked in for the Tasmanian Seafood experience with Dan, Ben and Nick on a Friday in November. The team were friendly, professional and incredibly knowledgeable. We couldn’t believe the quality of the experience (and the quantity of the seafood!) On the 4.5hr journey, we were treated to an absolutely decadent feast of freshly cooked abalone, lobster, oyster, salmon, mussels, sea urchin and periwinkle (the last two being freshly caught wild off the back of the boat). Dan’s cooking was spectacular and would easily rival a number of chef hatted restaurants we’ve been to! We were also fortunate enough to be the only 2 people booked in for the experience in the afternoon so we had the entire catamaran to ourselves and felt like absolute royalty. At the same time, the experience felt extremely intimate as the team spent time answering all our question and we were even lucky enough to be involved in shucking our own oysters and breaking open the sea urchins. The experience was a special treat for my husband’s birthday but was worth every single dollar. Thank you for the amazing memories."
"What an experience, we knew it would be good but WOW! Fresh Seafood, straight out of the water, to the table and prepared from “Raw” to various other “Cheffed” flavours. For me, the most interesting and tasty fare was the Sea Urchin. Nothing like I had experienced previously and so fresh as Shane (Skipper) moored the vessel to dive for. The Seafood experience was exceptional. Ryan (Chef) created the masterpieces which were devoured within seconds of creating! Scenery, spectacular and the service, extremely professional but also just like being out with friends! As the water was a tad choppy, Shane took care to ensure a comfortable ride, at all times. As an experience out of Hobart if you don’t have a lot of time, you definitely get your monies worth, and more. Oh, and the Tasmanian Bubbly was delicious!"
"Had a fantastic afternoon exploring the beautiful Derwent River. The seafood is caught, cooked and presented perfectly, a great opportunity to try different types of seafood that we wouldn’t normally eat. The hosts were great and ensured the food and bubbles flowed endlessly throughout afternoon! I would highly recommend this adventure to both visitors and locals alike. A great gift idea for that ‘hard to buy for person’ - An experience not to be missed!"
"This was our third visit to Tasmania but we had never been on a trip like this before. We set off early afternoon from Hobart down to Bruny Island, a slow leisurely cruise taking in some of the coastal sites. Shane, who was in charge of the boat, and the rest of his crew were very friendly and attentive answering any questions the guests had. As soon as we arrived on board and on the trip, we were served with drinks and platters of local cheeses and delicacies. When we arrived offshore at Bruny Island, Nick dived overboard and came back with a bag filled with sea urchins and periwinkles. The crew then cooked local producers- abalone, lobster, salmon and sea urchin. All fresh and most of which I had never tasted before. I loved them all. We spent a bit of time around Bruny before heading back via the salmon farm. I would recommend anyone whether you like seafood (like me) or whether you don't (like my wife). We both had a great time."
"This trip is an absolute treat if you are in to fresh seafood! It's caught right before your eyes and prepared then and there - you cant get it any fresher even if you catch it yourself! Add to this the spectacular scenery which acts as a backdrop to each course. Crayfish (lobster), abalone, periwinkle, Atlantic salmon, sea urchin and oysters with each available either raw as sashimi or cooked by the on-board chef. Super friendly staff - nothing is too much trouble. It doesn't get any better than this - Highly recommended!"
"One of the best trips I've ever been on. The food provided was outstanding, Dan, one of the deck hands went diving for urchin and periwinkles. They prepared all the food fresh on the back of the boat, we ate beautiful black lip abalone, Atlantic salmon, rock lobster, mussels, periwinkles, sea urchin, oysters and a beautiful cheese and fruit platter. All the while serving beautiful local Tassie beers and wines. Highly recommend. Thank you all for such an unforgettable experience."
